iPad Hardware Keyboard Enter Key Does Not Send Messages

Applies to: Mattermost Mobile (iOS) v2.41.0 through v2.42.2, iPad only

Status: Fixed in v2.42.3

Symptoms: Pressing Enter on a physical/hardware keyboard connected to an iPad does not send the message.

🛑 Problem

On iPad, pressing Enter on a hardware keyboard does not send the message in the main channel or DM view. This affects mattermost-mobile v2.41.0 through v2.42.2.

Symptoms

• Hardware Enter key has no effect in the main channel or DM view on iPad.
• Tapping the on-screen send button still works normally.
• Thread view and iPhone are not affected.

✅ Solution

Upgrade the mattermost-mobile app. The fix is included starting in v2.42.3 and in all v2.44.0+ releases.

Update the mobile app

Update to mattermost-mobile v2.42.3 or later via the App Store (or your MDM-managed deployment channel).

⚠️ Important: Only v2.41.0 through v2.42.2 are affected. Versions before v2.41.0 do not have this issue.
