How to Migrate from Mattermost Enterprise/Entry Edition to Team Edition

If you need to migrate from Enterprise or Entry Edition to the Team Edition, follow the instructions below based on your installation type.

Before You Begin

Please ensure you create backups before starting the migration.

• Your database
• Your configuration files

Migrate Based on Your Installation Type

Docker Installations

To migrate to the Team Edition, update your Docker configuration to use the Team Edition image.

You can modify your docker-compose.yml or Docker run command to reference:

mattermost/mattermost-team-edition

Tarball Installations

For tarball installations, follow the standard upgrade process documented here:

Note: When downloading the package, choose the Team Edition tarball instead of the Enterprise Edition tarball.
