I forgot my Mattermost password and can't log in to my Mattermost workspace.

Admins: If you're a System Admin, you can reset user passwords using mmctl: |
Admins: If you're an admin of a Mattermost Cloud workspace (your URL will look like If you're unable to resolve the issue, please open a ticket with Mattermost Support via the Customer Portal. Note: For security reasons, we can only work with verified system administrators. |
End Users: If you're unable to reset your password, or if your organization uses LDAP, SAML, or another external authentication method, you'll need to contact your internal Mattermost administrator. This is typically someone on your IT team who can help you recover your account or point you to the right person. |
End Users: Please reach out to your organization's Mattermost administrator or IT team. They can reset your password or escalate the issue to Mattermost Support if needed. For security, Mattermost Support can only work directly with verified administrators. |
Note: Because Mattermost is often self-managed, Mattermost staff cannot access your instance or reset passwords for end users. Your internal admin team is your best point of contact for help.
