Note: This article only applies for data on systems run or used by Mattermost Inc. if you're a member on a server that runs Mattermost that isn't affiliated with Mattermost Inc. then you need to reach out to that server's administrator.
Below we outline some scenarios with steps to resolution if you want to have your Mattermost account or associated data deleted.
I want to delete my data as per GDPR or CCPA
If you want to delete your data as per GDPR or CCPA please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org where you state your request for deletion.
I want to delete my Mattermost workspace
Please reach out to Mattermost support by creating a ticket.
We'd love to know why you want to delete your workspace so please provide feedback when opening the ticket.
I want to delete my Mattermost Portal account
If you signed up on mattermost.com and want to delete that account please create a ticket with Mattermost support.

I want to delete my Mattermost user account
If you signed up as a user in a Mattermost Cloud workspace you need to contact that workspace's owner to deactivate or delete your account. Mattermost staff does not access customer systems and can't delete the account for you.
I want to delete my Mattermost user account on a server not hosted by Mattermost Inc.
If you have an account on a system that isn't hosted by Mattermost Inc., we can't access this system and help you delete your account. You need to reach out to the respective system administrator and ask them to delete your account and data. If you don't know who this, you can usually reach out to your organization's IT department to point you in the right direction.
